Dementia Activities Volunteer

About this event

Assisting with the day-to-day tasks of the JARS Community Hub. Including Brechin Connections dementia peer support group.

Volunteering details

Assisting with the Dementia Meeting Centre at the JARS Community Hub; setting up the space before the clients have arrived; making teas and coffees and serving lunch and snacks throughout the session; assisting with and organising activities for the clients.

Promoting the work that JARS Community Hub do, and what events/workshops/activities are on currently for people to take part in, getting feedback from customers on any ideas they might have for events/workshops/activities they might like to host using our facilities, or in partnership with us.

We appreciate your commitment to us and we will do our best to make your volunteer experience with us positive and rewarding. To make sure you have the best possible experience we have created this agreement, which sets out our commitment to you and what we hope you can contribute.


There is no obligation on you to assist us, nor any obligation on JARS Community Hub to provide you with volunteering opportunities. You have offered to give JARS Community Hub an approximate time commitment in the first instance of ……. hours per week on Tuesday and Thursday from 10am until 3pm, although these may be subject to change to suit your other commitments. Your time should be recorded on the volunteer time sheet provided each month and submit these to Kirsty Haston for monitoring purposes. You will receive a full induction and any training necessary. You are required, where applicable, to follow the applicable company policies and procedures which includes health and safety and equality, inclusion and diversity. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with what to do to stay safe whilst volunteering.


Experience required

No experience is required. Full induction will be given if commit to volunteering.

Travel details

There is no financial remuneration for you under this arrangement. However, pre-arranged expenses for travel, subsistence and cost of protective clothing/special equipment required will be reimbursed on production of the necessary receipts. A claim form for this can be obtained and must be approved by Hub Manager
