Are you available this festive season and looking to be part of something fun, magical, and meaningful?

The Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT) – an educational charity and cultural icon – is looking for cheerful and committed Festive Volunteer Ushers to help us spread Christmas cheer from 10th–24th December. Every year, our cinema becomes a festive hub for families, friends, and film lovers, and you could be at the heart of it all!

We’ve got a dedicated “Die Hard” crew of regular volunteers (see what we did there?), but the holiday season is our busiest time, and we’re calling on some extra Christmas Elves to help make it magical.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Festive Volunteer Usher, you’ll play a key part in bringing joy and seamless experiences to our audiences. Tasks include:

Checking tickets and helping guests find their seats
Keeping an eye on the audience and film presentation during screenings
Assisting with tidying the cinema between shows
Spreading festive cheer and chatting with visitors

?? Volunteers are at the very centre of many Glasgow families’ cherished Christmas traditions – your presence will help create unforgettable memories.

What You’ll Get:

Flexible shifts between 4&ndash;6 hours &ndash; perfect for working around your schedule
Travel expenses reimbursed if travelling within the Glasgow City boundary

Opportunities to support GFT&rsquo;s wider impact &ndash; from dementia-friendly screenings to youth outreach
And of course... Christmas jumpers and festive outfits encouraged! ????

Volunteer Times: Between 11am and 11pm (flexible shifts)
Dress Code: All black (not provided) – festive touches very welcome!

Experience required

Must be over 18 and have English strong enough to be able to competently aid a building evacuation. Must be friendly and people focused.

Travel details

The Glasgow Film Theatre is based centrally in town and can be accessed via multiple bus routes, trains and the subway. The closest parking can be found on Cambridge Street.
