Community Lunch Helper

Help create a welcoming, inclusive space where local residents can enjoy a nutritious meal, connect with others, and feel part of their community. Volunteers will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our weekly Friday lunches.

What You Can Get Involved In:

Setting up tables, chairs, and serving stations
Welcoming guests and chatting with attendees
Serving tea and coffee
Serving meals and clearing tables
Washing dishes and tidying up after the lunch
Supporting staff with any additional tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly
Making up food parcels for participants to take home with them

Skills and Qualities Needed:

Volunteers will come from a wide range of backgrounds and will have many different qualities and skills. We are looking for:

A friendly and approachable manner
Willingness to work as part of a team
Reliability and punctuality
Respect for confidentiality and inclusivity
No previous experience required — just a positive attitude and a willingness to muck in!

Commitment:

We’re looking for volunteers who can support us weekly on Fridays between 9am-2pm. You do not need to be available for the full 5 hours, even 1-2 hours would be a great help!

What’s In It For You:

Develop your customer service and communication skills
Be part of a supportive, friendly team
Meet members of the public and help foster community spirit
Enhance your CV

Support and Training

All volunteers will receive:

A full induction and role briefing
On-the-day support from staff
Ongoing guidance and opportunities to learn new skills
