Riding for Disabled Sessional Volunteer

Equi-Power is an award-winning independent charity and member group of the Riding for the Disabled Association serving Central Scotland. We believe in the power of horses to transform lives! Our therapeutic and competitive activities are for children and adults with additional support needs.

Based on a quiet livery yard in Sauchenford, we provide a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages to experience the benefits of being around horses. Our activities are known to improve physical and emotional well-being and promote skills development. Most importantly of all, we have fun!

Sessional volunteers have equestrian experience and carry out a variety of tasks including preparing stables and horses for RDA sessions, setting up equipment for sessions, supporting children and adults with disabilities to enjoy time with horses and keeping the yard spic and span!

Experience required

Some equestrian experience is essential to volunteering with Equi-Power.
Experience of supporting people with disabilities is a plus but not a requirement.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn, reliability and a love of seeing people enjoy and achieve are all you need to be a great RDA volunteer.
