Art Group Volunteer – The Flourish Community (GAMH Community Hub)

About the opportunity

The Flourish Community runs a relaxed, member-led art group every Friday afternoon at the GAMH Hub on Ashley Street. The group has been going for years and is run by our members, who choose activities, plan projects, and support one another. It’s friendly, informal and creative — more like a community drop-in than a structured class.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys art, likes chatting to people, and brings positive energy. You don’t need experience in mental health — just kindness, patience, and a willingness to join in. If you’re interested in supporting people, building confidence, and being part of a welcoming community, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

Helping members plan and shape art activities with staff support
Assisting with setting up materials and tidying up afterwards
Encouraging members who are leading the group and helping build their confidence
Supporting positive group dynamics and getting involved in activities
Bringing your own ideas and creativity to the space

Commitment & Timing

Around 2.5 hours per week
Thursday: 1-hour prep session
Friday: Art group from 2pm – 3.30pm
Ideally able to commit for around 6 months
We hope to welcome someone from January

GAMH Community Hub, 23–25 Ashley Street, Glasgow, G3 6DR
