RNLI – Aberdeen Lifeboats
- VO104626
The RNLI are looking for volunteers to help uncover Aberdeen’s Second World War history. From 1939 to 1945, RNLI crews continued to save lives at sea under extraordinary circumstances. From crews who went out on lifeboats, to those who supported on land with tasks like launching boats, maintaining kit and conducting repairs. To all the women who supported, playing a key role in fundraising even during the struggles of war. And those whose lives were saved in rescues. There are so many stories which have been lost over time.
We would like to recruit a group of volunteers to research, investigate and help uncover stories so we can remember this chapter of local history.
If you have an interest in heritage, research experience, computer literacy, and can work independently and as part of a team, this role may be for you.
