Catering & Food Service Assistant

As a Catering and Food Service Assistant Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of food preparation and service for our women’s group gatherings. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a passion for food, and is keen to contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with setting up and preparing refreshments, snacks, and meals for meetings and events.
Serve food and beverages to group members in a friendly and respectful manner.
Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen and serving area, including washing up and storing equipment.
Support with menu planning and food shopping as required.
Comply with all food hygiene and safety regulations.
Ensure all dietary requirements and allergies are noted and respected.
Contribute ideas to enhance the catering experience for the group.
Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to create a positive atmosphere.

Experience required


  • Friendly, approachable, and reliable.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Interest in food preparation and service (previous experience is helpful but not essential).

  • Awareness of, or willingness to learn about, food hygiene and safety practices.

  • Sensitivity to the needs and backgrounds of a diverse group of women.
