Glasgow Disabled Scouts

Glasgow Disabled Scouts is looking for volunteers to support disabled children and young people to take part in fun, inclusive and adventurous Scouting.
Our group provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for young people aged 6 to 25 with a wide range of additional support needs, disabilities and life experiences. Volunteers help young people build confidence, friendships, independence and skills through games, activities, outdoor experiences and section nights.
This is a hands-on role where you will be part of a team helping to run sessions, support participation, encourage young people and make sure everyone feels included. You do not need previous Scouting experience. What matters most is being reliable, patient, positive and willing to get involved.
Volunteers may support with:
Helping at weekly section meetings
Supporting young people to take part in activities
Setting up and tidying away equipment
Encouraging participation and inclusion
Assisting with games, crafts, life skills and outdoor activities
Supporting trips, camps and events where possible
This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone interested in youth work, education, ASN, social care, community work, outdoor learning or simply making a difference in the lives of young people.

Useful qualities include:
Good communication skills
A friendly and patient approach
