Discharge Lounge Volunteer

An opportunity has arisen for a volunteer in the Discharge lounge at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Volunteers serve light refreshments and chat to patients who are waiting for transport to take them home. They may also be asked to collect medication from the hospital pharmacy. It is sometimes quite a long wait for prescriptions to be ready or the ambulance to arrive - can you help ease the boredom?
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 55+ to volunteer in their local communities. Across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire we run 5 projects involving hundreds of volunteers. These include volunteering activities within local hospitals and primary schools, charitable knitting groups, a walking group for older people, and a community Handyperson Service.
Our hospital volunteers provide important support to the NHS, with the aim of making a visit to the hospital a better experience for patients and visitors.
