Volunteer Marshal

Volunteering details

Strathcarron Hospice support people and families across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth living with serious illness to live well, die well and make every moment count.
Strathcarron Hospice are currently looking to recruit ‘Volunteer Marshals’ to assist with their annual 10K. Volunteers will be assigned to a marshal point along the route.
Duties for this role will include:
*guiding runners
*encouraging runners as they pass your marshal point on the route
*keeping an eye on runners along the route
Younger volunteers (under 16) are welcome, however they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Although Denny High School is accessible, the bus used to transport marshals along the route is not wheelchair accessible. Should any volunteers using mobility aids be interested in participating on the day, reasonable adjustments can be made to their volunteer role and have suitable marshal points to suit their needs.
If interested, please complete the online interest form: https://www.strathcarronhospice.net/forms/strathcarron-hospice-10k-volunteer-interest-form
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
All marshals will have contact numbers of key people on the day for contacting. Volunteers will get a full marshal briefing and a coach will take you to your marshal point.
