Volunteer Treasurer

We are seeking a Treasurer as we grow and develop our funding streams. The Board of Trustees is responsible for governing the organisation. They are responsible for growing the overall impact of the charity and for overseeing the strategic plan.
The role of treasurer is to be responsible for the accounts including:


  • Preparing quarterly and annual financial reports for the Board.

  • Preparing the submission to OSCR in liaison with the Chair of Trustees, Director, and with the Independent Examiner.

  • Assisting with the setting and monitoring of the budget.

  • Ensuring we comply with our legal responsibility in relation to finance and more widely as a Board member.

  • Working closely with the Board and the Director to ensure that our processes are streamlined and transparent.

  • Attending quarterly meetings of the Board.

Experience required

You will have proven experience in financial management and bookkeeping, ideally supported by a relevant formal qualification. Previous experience as a treasurer of a charity is essential, so that you have a sound understanding of the financial responsibilities of charitable organisations and the requirements for submitting annual returns to OSCR.

Travel expenses

Reasonable expenses incurred as part of the role will be covered.
