Triage/reception

Citizens Advice Haddington looking to recruit several new Triage/Reception volunteers as we grow our team in the wake of our office move.
As Triage/reception volunteers your role would entail obtaining key information from clients on their support needs to determine the correct advice pathway for our clients.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference to individuals and families within your community. Our clients seek support on a variety of matters, including:
• Benefits and social security
• Housing issues
• Debt and money advice
• Consumer problems
• Employment matters
• Energy and utilities
• Family and relationship issues
• And many other areas of everyday life
Key roles
• Undertaking triage assessments on client background and advice issue prior to adviser contact
• Managing clients’ expectations regarding waiting time and phone back availability.
• Assisting with other administrative duties required in the Bureau.
Skills Required
• A compassionate and friendly manner
• Good customer facing, telephone communication skills
• Adequate IT skills and willingness to use database systems and search tools
• Attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Commitment to ongoing training and development
