Health & Safety Officer for Peterson Park Playing Fields and Hall.

Peterson Park Playing Fields and Hall (SCIO) is seeking a reliable and community-minded Volunteer Health & Safety Officer to support our busy grassroots sports environment. This role is ideal for someone who cares about keeping people safe and wants to contribute to a well-run community facility used by local sports teams, families, and visitors.
Gain experience in health & safety, compliance, and facility management; Access to Training opportunities (risk assessment, first aid, safeguarding). Volunteer within a supportive volunteer team. This is a meaningful role in improving safety for people playing and watching sport.
You will help ensure our pitches, pavilion, and public areas remain safe, compliant, and welcoming. The role involves: 

Carry out regular safety checks across the site


Assist with risk assessments and incident reporting


Help maintain safe match-day and event operations


Identify hazards and escalate issues to the Trust committee


Promote safe practice among coaches, volunteers, and visiting teams


Support emergency procedures and basic first-aid readiness (training available)

The time required would be 2/3 hours per week.

Experience required

No previous experience is required.
You will need to be Responsible and organised with good communication skills
Understand the basics of maintenance required for buildings and outside sports areas.
Comfortable engaging with volunteers, parents, and coaches
Interest in safety, well-being, and community sport
Happy working outdoors as well as indoors

Travel details

A local rail station at Yoker serves Peterson Park and is 500m away. Numerous Buses run between Glasgow and Clydebank through the area.
