We are building a brand-new South Ayrshire team to bring the talking newspaper to blind, visually impaired and print-impaired people - and those with mobility issues - right across South Ayrshire. Each weekly edition must be recorded, edited and posted via FREEPOST.on the same day the local newspaper is released (e.g. every Wednesday), so our listeners get their news at the same time as everyone else.

Lead the team that brings the week's local news to life.
Commitment: Weekly — every publication day, without fail!
Location: South Ayrshire — must have access to your own computer for recording and editing
Purpose of the role
The Producer leads the weekly production of the South Ayrshire edition, working with a team of at least three volunteer readers — two covering the local newspaper and one sports reader (who can take part remotely). The finished edition must be completed and posted FREE via FREEPOST on the same day the newspaper is released.
What you'll do
• Review the week's local newspaper and select a balanced mix of news, features and community stories.
• Prepare running orders and scripts for your team of at least three readers (two local news, one sports).
• Record the readers and carry out editing and quality checks on your own computer — training and guidance provided.
• Coordinate the remote sports reader's contribution into each edition.
• Ensure every edition is duplicated to USB memory sticks and posted via FREEPOST on release day (e.g. every Wednesday).
• Support and encourage your reading team, and welcome new readers as we grow.
