About Us
Common Thread Vision (CTV) is a small, registered charity based in Pollokshields, Glasgow. We support older ethnic minority women while welcoming women of all backgrounds to take part in our activities. Our work reduces loneliness and isolation, supports independence, and improves wellbeing.
Help Common Thread Vision secure funding to support older women in our community.
We are looking for a volunteer with good writing and research skills to help identify funding opportunities and assist with preparing grant applications.
What you'll do:
Research suitable grant opportunities.
Assist with writing funding applications.
Help gather information and supporting evidence for applications.
Work alongside our Chair and Board of Trustees.
Skills we're looking for:
Good written English.
Strong research and organisational skills.
Ability to write clearly and accurately.
Experience of grant writing is desirable but not essential if you have excellent writing skills and are willing to learn.
Support to Volunteers
You'll receive an induction, ongoing support and regular guidance from the Project Lead, who will provide the information and resources needed to prepare funding applications. You'll have opportunities for feedback, flexible volunteering to suit your availability, and agreed out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
Time commitment:
Flexible. Approximately 1 – 1.5 hours per week, with additional time when funding applications are being prepared.
Location:
Remote, with occasional meetings in Pollokshields, Glasgow if convenient.

Travel details

Travel Information
This is primarily a home-based volunteering role, allowing you to carry out research and prepare funding applications remotely at times that suit you. Occasional meetings may take place at our base in Pollokshields Community Centre, 15 Kenmure Street, Glasgow G41 2NT, or at another agreed location, to discuss funding opportunities or project updates. The Centre is easily accessible by public transport, including buses 38, 38A, 38B, 38C, 57 and 57A, Shields Road Subway Station, and Pollokshields East Train Station. Pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.
