Reception Volunteer

Falkirk Citizens Advice Bureau is offers free, impartial and confidential advice to the people of Falkirk. They deliver support and guidance on a range of topics, giving people the information they need to deal with any situation and improve their lives.
By choosing to volunteer with Falkirk Citizens Advice Bureau you’ll be giving something truly valuable back to the community.

Reception volunteers will be the clients' first point of contact with the bureau and will make sure they are given a warm and efficient welcome and are aware of what will happen during their visit.
This can be a varied role, here are some of things you might be doing within this role:

*Welcoming clients
*Explaining waiting times and procedures to clients
*Telling people what the CAB can do in a way that suits them
*Working within agreed bureau systems and procedures
*Answering the telephone and pass on callers to the appropriate person and/or taking messages.


Experience required

No experience required! The Citizens Advice Bureau adviser training programme and web-based information system, will give you a great start in the bureau.
Good communication skills, working part of a team, organisation skills, and willing to attend training and other meetings.

Travel expenses

45p per mile (subject to change) and reimbursement of bus or train fares on production of a relevant ticket.
Other reasonable expenses incurred in the course of volunteering will be considered and can be discussed.

In house training and training on CAB software.

Monday - Friday. Usually between 10am - 3pm. Specific days/times can be discussed with volunteers.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
