Service Team Volunteer (Fife)

Can you help promote services to local people in your community? Can you help at events and awareness raising sessions?

You could help improve access to services in your community.

Voiceability provides advocacy support to help people have their voices heard in decisions about their health, care and wellbeing.


The Service Team Volunteer role supports in the delivery of advocacy and other services by:


· Helping clients understand about advocacy


· Attending events and awareness raising activities


· Networking and promoting our services and organisation


· Signposting to other services


· Building professional relationships and partnership working


· Supporting our community engagement programmes in your local area


This role is ideal for people who already have a connection to their community or would like to build one.


Experience required

Some key skills/qualities to have are:
· Good communication skills
· A basic level of IT literacy
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload
· Ability to volunteer independently & as part of a team
· A commitment to the aims and ethos of VoiceAbility

Travel details

This role is based at your home and in your local community. Much of the volunteering will happen remotely, but the service is client-led so you must be able to travel round your local community if clients want to meet in person, or to attend networking events.

The service operates Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm so that’s when your volunteering takes place. You may be asked to help out at an occasional evening event, such as with group advocacy sessions, but this is only if it suits you.

Support
Training details

As a volunteer you’ll receive full training, support from the volunteer team and your local advocates, and paid expenses. Training is delivered remotely on Teams, and you will be given a VoiceAbility email account and mobile to be able to access the training. There are also online modules to complete and a whole catalogue of e-learning that you can access.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18
volunteers have to be suitably background checked and need to be able to travel around their local area by themselves
