Volunteer Adviser

To help provide effective and efficient advice to members of the public.
-Interviewing clients
-Finding, interpreting and communicating information so clients can make informed decisions
-Act on behalf of clients, when needed


  • Negotiating, referring and drafting letters for clients

  • Completing clear case records

  • Recognising the root cause of problems and participating in taking action


Our volunteer Advisers can either be generalist advisers (they advise on many different topics) or they can become specialist advisers (advising on a specific topic(s))

Experience required

Previous experience as an adviser is not required, comprehensive and in-depth training is provided.
Desirable:
-Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
-Open, approachable and enthusiastic
-Able to go through relevant information and extract what is relevant
-Respectful of views and values which may be different to your own
-Able to work within a team

Travel details

Kincardine and Mearns Citizens Advice Bureau is within downtown Stonehaven, and is easily accessible via walking, car, bus, train etc
