Are you passionate about helping others and eager to make a real impact in your community? We invite you to become a vital part of our food bank team, where your efforts will directly support individuals and families in need.

As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring food donations are efficiently managed. You’ll welcome and thank donors, check, weigh, and record incoming stock, and sort food by date and type. You’ll also prepare stock orders for our food bank centre and emergency food boxes, ensuring timely and accurate distribution. By maintaining a clean and organised warehouse, and reporting any health & safety concerns, you'll help create a safe and welcoming environment.

Your support can bring hope and encouragement to those who need it most.

Travel details

-Where: Citrus House, Greenbank Road, Aberdeen, AB12 3BQ

-When: Monday to Friday

-Time commitment: Minimum of 1-2hrs per week.

Support

Training details

Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. You will benefit from a comprehensive induction and continuous coaching from our food bank manager, ensuring you feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment

The warehouse at Citrus House, Greenbank Road, Aberdeen, AB12 3BQ is open Monday-Friday. Flexible times available to volunteer within these times. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
