Treasurer

The Ecology Centre is an inclusive, community-led charity who inspire positive change through directly connection people and the natural environment for the benefit of both.
The organisation is currently looking to recruit for the role of Treasurer. As Treasurer, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial governance and health of the charity in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, General Manager and operational teams to ensure effective financial management and strategy in line with all legal and compliance obligations. In doing so, you will play a key role in helping to drive the present and future of the charity to achieve its vision and mission.

Experience required

The organisation is looking for a Treasurer with proven experience in a relevant discipline, who can provide support with the following areas of effective financial management and control:
-Governance and control
-Budgeting and Monitoring
-Strategy development
-People support

Previous experience in environmental and/or third sector roles is welcome but not necessary, and nor do we consider it a requirement that you have previous experience as part of a Board or Executive Committee.
Most important, is having integrity, team-working ethic and a passion to help develop and grow the charity.

Travel expenses

Following prior agreement, legitimate, out of pocket travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Induction and ongoing training be delivered by Board of Trustees and General Manager

Restrictions

Minimum age: 16

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
