The Halliday Foundation
- VO102097
The Thrive Baby and Toddler sessions are now in different communities across Glasgow with 4 sessions running per week. These groups offer a free warm welcoming space to go and meet other children and parents/guardians. These groups encourage children's learning and development and reduce isolation, build relationships.
The sessions are designed to encourage positive interactions, communication, language and child development in a warm friendly environment. We offer a range of activities from sensory activities, messy play, outdoor games, art, music, with a story and song time. We create a homely and relaxed, inclusive environment that supports health and wellbeing for children and families and to provide an opportunity for families to play, learn and eat together in a social setting to combat isolation, encourage relationship building and healthy attachment. Offering an inclusive environment for families who may be new to the city or have English as a second language to encourage integration.
Staff and volunteers build strong relationships with the families and have valuable experience and knowledge of issues facing families attending and how to support them the best they can. Providing high quality child activities and resources to encourage children's learning and development and allow a space for friendships to be created by the children and adults attending the groups, having a positive impact on peoples mental health.
