Grief Meet Up Host

Create spaces with your Co-Host that are safe, supportive, open and empowering through organising a monthly meet up in a social setting. Some months might be reflective, others activity based.

Each group has at least 2 Hosts who work together to plan the meet ups, ensuring that all activities are accessible and appropriate, and venues booked in advance if required. Facilitate conversations about grief during the meet up. Be the admin of a Facebook group for your meet up to promote up-coming events. Access an email account for your group where you can reply to any enquiries that come in for your meet up and keep on top of communications. Complete safeguarding training and follow the process if a concern is raised. Update your Host Co-ordinator on how your group is going, and contact them at any point if you need support with running your meet up.

Experience required

· Aged 18-35
· Personal bereavement experience
· Bereaved for at least 1 year
· Empathetic, organised, reliable
· Minimum commitment to the role of 1 year

Travel expenses

We don’t cover travel expenses (once a month to city centre) but don’t expect volunteers to be out of pocket by running these groups so we invite Hosts to get in touch to discuss this if required.
