Community Cafe Volunteer

Kirkcaldy YMCA provides local children, young people, families and individuals with a programme of activities, groups and support services which helps enable their personal growth, development and involvement in the wider community.

They are a registered charity and have operated in the Kirkcaldy area for over 165 years.

This role involves someone who can assist in the preparation of food for the community café, activities, and projects. The Kitchen / Cafe Volunteer should have knowledge (or be willing to learn about) food safety and hygiene. A REHIS Food Handling Certificate would be preferred but full training will be given.


Experience required

They are looking for someone to carry out the role in a manner that ensures all activities undertaken fully reflect the vision and values of Kirkcaldy YMCA. The organisation are particularly interested in hearing from people with an interest in cooking/baking. Good customer service, communication and problem-solving skills would also be advantageous as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

All volunteers will be expected to work within all Kirkcaldy YMCA systems and procedures.

Travel expenses

Volunteer travel expenses will be reimbursed on a weekly basis.
