As a Peer Support Volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing our hub. Your role is to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where people feel heard, supported, and valued. You’ll help them access our services, offer emotional support, and be a listening ear.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome individuals into the hub with kindness and empathy
Provide emotional support and a safe space to talk
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Help signpost individuals to other services and resources
Show respect, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach
Work independently and take accountability for the people you support
Experience required
Strong communication and listening skills
Organised and self-directed
A genuine desire to support others emotionally
Kindness, empathy, and understanding
Lived experience of mental health challenges or recovery is highly beneficial

Minimum age: 16
Availability
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
