Treasurer

Join our Board as Treasurer of Ayr Gaiety Partnership
The Ayr Gaiety is more than a venue — it’s been a cornerstone of Ayrshire’s artistic and civic identity for more than 120 years. Owned and operated by the Ayr Gaiety Partnership since 2014 the theatre is now a thriving community arts hub with a growing regional profile. As we enter our next chapter, we are seeking to appoint a Treasurer to lead us forward with vision, credibility, and energy.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who believes in the power of the performing arts to assist us to inspire, connect and transform and to support the iconic Gaiety Theatre as it steps into a new Creative Scotland funded era.
You will be an experienced accountant and while experience in theatre or the wider arts sector would be valuable, it is not essential. However you will have a strong personal connection to the arts and a desire to make a difference and we particularly welcome interest from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in arts leadership.
As our Treasurer, you will:
• Oversee the financial affairs of Ayr Gaiety Partnership and ensure that they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practices;
• Ensure that proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place;
• Monitor and report to the Board on the financial health of the organisation;
This is your opportunity to play an influential role in the future of:
• A theatre with soul, history, and potential;
• A committed and collegial Board of Trustees;
• An opportunity to shape the cultural life in the region;
• The chance to leave a lasting legacy in Ayrshire’s arts landscape.
The role is not accompanied by any financial remuneration, although expenses for travel may be claimed.
