Audiology Team Volunteer (NHS Forth Valley)

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 50+ to volunteer in their local communities.
Do you have a few hours to spare every week? Why not join the RSVP Audiology volunteer team which is an important part of NHS Forth Valley’s Audiology service, running regular drop-in clinics across the region. Volunteers service and retube hearing aids and issue batteries. Your first few sessions are primarily training sessions as different types of hearing aids require different spare parts, and you will be taught how to distinguish between and work with them.
Retubing involves working with small components and you will need nimble fingers.

The role requires a regular weekly commitment as people with hearing loss depend on being able to access advice, support and maintenance for their devices. Current gaps in the rota are in Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
If you are interested and would like to know more about what is involved, please complete the on-line form at https://nhsforthvalley.com/health-services/az-of-services/audiology-services/contact-us/audiology-volunteer-form/

Experience required

Good interpersonal skills, good listenng skills and good manual dexterity. Hearing aid component parts are small so nimble fingers and good eyesight are essential.
