Van Drivers Help Us Save Bikes from Landfill

Love Cycling or Recycling?  Come and join Bike for Good's community - everyone is welcome.  We believe that cycling is the most effective and sustainable form of transport and that it enhances our chances for a healthy life and environment.  Our bike sales from donated and refurbished bikes support health and wellbeing community projects all over Glasgow.

We require a volunteer with a clean driving licence to support our bike donation pick up service.  We are building a pool of volunteer van drivers who are able to drive a Boxer Van and a Nissan e-van (short wheel base).

Successful applicants will receive an induction and work alongside two members of staff who will provide support and guidance as required.  Volunteer van drivers also work with volunteer administrators who plan and organise the donation pick up routes.

Volunteer Driers will be expected to contribute 2-4 hours per week or fortnight depending on their availability and demand for pick ups.  The role would be carried out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursday mornings from our West Hub in Haugh Road, near the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in the North West of Glasgow.

Applicants will be invited to our West Hub for an informal interview to chat about their interests and skills, an induction on the organisation will include information about our mission and projects, a tour to meet other staff and volunteers and some final admin around signing up to our organisation as a volunteer and a DVLA check.  We communicate with our volunteers via an App, so applicants should bring their smartphone to the interview.

If you're interested, please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org.
