Pantry Assistant at Castlemilk Pantry

The Castlemilk Pantry, run by Ardenglen Housing Association, provides affordable food to local people while tackling food waste. As a Pantry Assistant volunteer, you’ll help keep the pantry stocked, organised, and welcoming for members.

Why Volunteer with Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our vital work fighting food insecurity in Castlemilk. Your organisational skills and enthusiasm will make a real difference in the lives of others, while you gain new experience in a positive, welcoming environment.

The Pantry relies on volunteers to keep shelves stocked, welcome members, and ensure everything runs smoothly each week. With demand growing, volunteers are essential in helping families access affordable food with dignity while tackling food waste in the community.

If you’re organised, reliable, and enjoy working with others, our Pantry Assistant Volunteer role could be perfect for you. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain practical skills in stock control and teamwork while making a direct impact on your community.

You’ll support the team by carrying out a variety of practical tasks and will always be supported through a full induction, on-the-job training, and ongoing guidance from the Pantry Co-ordinator and staff team.

This role is ideal if you want to gain practical experience in retail, customer service, or community work while making a real difference in Castlemilk. The time commitment is flexible – typically 3–4 hours per week, particularly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10 am and 3 pm.

Volunteers will be supported through a full induction, on-the-job training, and ongoing guidance from the Pantry Co-ordinator and staff team.

Minimum Age
18 (due to insurance and manual handling requirements).
