Adult Volunteer

Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) is a thriving self-funded group of young people who volunteer with the police with the aim of making the community a better place, building confidence by serving their communities, fundraising to help those in need in our communities and also want to learn about the various different aspects of policing, with many joining the PSYV having future policing aspirations.
As adult volunteers, you will join the group at sessions and while out on deployments, which regularly sees positive community work displayed on local social media to highlight to the community how effective the organisation can be. As adult volunteers, you will get the opportunity to run sessions and lead the young people on deployments, gaining valuable leadership and voluntary community experience working with young people. There are also national and international deployments also available on occasion throughout the year.

Experience required

As a volunteer, you need to bring enthusiasm and the ability to engage with young people, as well as having the confidence to speak in a classroom environment and eventually through time, deliver pre planned sessions to the young people.
