South West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau offers free, impartial and confidential advice. They deliver support and guidance on a range of topics, giving people the information they need to deal with any situation and improve their lives.
By choosing to volunteer with South West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau you’ll be giving something truly valuable back to the community.
Reception volunteers will be the clients' first point of contact with the bureau and will make sure they are given a warm and efficient welcome and are aware of what will happen during their visit.
This can be a varied role, here are some of things you might be doing within this role:
Main Duties
• Welcoming clients and anyone they have with them
• Explaining waiting times and procedures to clients
• Telling people what the CAB can do in a way that suits them
• Working within agreed bureau systems and procedures
• Answering the telephone and passing on callers to the appropriate person or taking a message
• Creating and updating client records in the electronic recording system
Attributes Needed for the Role
• Committed to the aims and principles of the Scottish CAB Service
• Organised and systematic
• Understand the importance of CAB work
• Have good communication skills
• Willing to attend training and other meetings
