Music Session Mentor

Encourage local talent and provide a supportive environment for our session participants and learners at The Music Rooms.
How you will make a difference:
Preparation: Arrive early to help set up the space, tune instruments, and organize sheet music or resources.
Engagement: Work alongside the session leader, and give 1-to-1 encouragement to participants who might be struggling with a chord, melody or a rhythm.
Inclusion: Help manage the vibe of the room, set tempos, themes or genres, and ensure everyone gets a turn and feels included in the session.
Safety & Privacy: Help us maintain our high standards by following safety protocols under our public liability insurance. You will also handle participant details from time to time, and must do so with care to ensure we remain GDPR compliant and maintain total confidentiality.
Safeguarding & PVG: Because this role involves supporting learners and vulnerable groups, all
mentors are required to be members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
● If you are already a member, we will help you complete a scheme record update.
● If you are new to the scheme, we will support you through the application process.
● As we are a qualifying voluntary organisation, these checks are free of charge for our volunteers.
