Mechandising Assistant

The Merchandising Assistants Role supports our hospice by ensuring we maximise the
income across the retail chain by supporting the standards on the shop floor to ensure
stock densities, department layouts and excellent window and internal displays.
→ Using flair and creativity display stock and products to their best, creating inviting
windows and internal displays (full training will be given).
→ Supporting stock replenishment to the shop floor.
→ Support stock rotation on the shop floor to ensure full densities are achieved to
maximise sales.
→ Help to deliver “Hanger Appeal” on all products within each department.
→ Support product and seasonal changes on the shop floor to maximise income.
→ Comply with Health & Safety procedures, the Volunteer Policy and any other
relevant policies and retail guidelines
→ General housekeeping duties
→ Provide excellent customer service to all customers and donors
→ Deal with any enquiries, requests or complaints in a professional manner
→ Attendance at relevant training and team meetings

Experience required

→ An understanding of the services the hospice can offer people with a life-limiting
illness.
→ A keen interest in fashion and a willingness to learn Ayrshire Hospice display
guidelines.
→ Good interpersonal skills
→ Good organising skills
→ Be a team player and be willing to work within guidelines provided
→ Be responsible and reliable
→ Ability to keep up to date with hospice service provision developments
→ Willingness to uphold the values of the hospice

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
