Community Garden volunteer

Brag Enterprises helps disadvantaged communities across East Central Scotland achieve a more prosperous future by offering a range of initiatives including employability programmes, business support and retraining services for the community and beyond. BRAG is committed to community driven enterprise.

BRAG are looking for community garden volunteers for their beautiful community garden. Volunteers can learn, grow vegetables and enjoy being outside or gardening in the warm and dry environment of the polytunnel. The gardening is a welcoming and relaxing place and volunteers can be involved in a variety of tasks including planting and pruning. These tasks are suitable for all abilities and there is something which will interest everyone. There is no requirement to be a regular visitor, just when it suits you; you will always be welcomed. If there is produce ready to harvest you are welcome to take some home too.

Experience required

The garden is a mental health space where food is grown and donated to the community. The garden is not completely disability friendly, however this is our aim. Volunteers will be shown what to do, so no experience is necessary. Attitude is one of kindness, the rest we can teach and help with.

Travel details

The garden is located at the back of the old school in Crosshill Community Enterprise Centre, Main Street, Crosshill, Fife , KY5 8BJ where BRAG is located.

Travel expenses

Volunteers will be reimbursed for travelling by bus on the day of volunteering. Bus tickets may also be provided in advance for those volunteering regularly.
