Project Esperanza

Outline of typical tasks:
Planting and watering crops.
Assisting with community events and collaborating with community members who want to get involved.
Care of vegetables including netting, use of fleece for protection.
Help with disposing of slugs without use of chemicals.
Tying in peas and beans.
Harvesting as needed for project users.
Understanding when to water plants depending on the weather.
Labelling of plants.

Lauriston Farm, Lauriston Farm Road, Edinburgh EH4 5EX
The main entrance is at the back of the Toby Carvery car park.
Lothian Buses 16, 27, 29, 37 & 47 all stop within 5 minutes of the farm.
Travel expenses
We will provide you with a monthly expenses form. Expenses will be paid out on the last working day of each month.
Support
Training details
A member of our staff will give you an induction at the allotment and will be available each week to check in and provide any support you need.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 16
Availability
Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
