Biodiversity Action Team Volunteer

In Partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council
Are you passionate about nature and the great outdoors? Want to spend time making a real impact on your local environment, meet new people, and learn new skills? Then we want YOU to join our friendly conservation team!

The Conservation Volunteers, working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council, are on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help us protect and enhance the beautiful green spaces across West Dunbartonshire.

What You'll Be Doing: Our hands-on conservation days offer a variety of important tasks designed to improve local habitats and learn about biodiversity in your local area. Activities vary with the seasons and may include:

  • Carrying out citizen-science wildlife surveys

  • Repairing boardwalks to help people safely access natural areas

  • Tree planting to boost biodiversity and fight climate change

  • Building paths to improve accessibility for everyone

  • Clearing overgrown scrub to maintain healthy habitats

No previous experience is needed—just a willingness to get stuck in and enjoy the outdoors!

What You'll Need: Volunteers must be 18 years or older
Dress for the outdoors: wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing
Bring your lunch. We'll keep the kettle on with tea, coffee, and biscuits provided! Travel expenses of up to £6 are available (with a valid transport ticket)
