Volunteer Games Masters

shmuTRAIN require a volunteer Games Master to support delivery of our Haven RPG programme. If you have a flair for storytelling and a passion for guiding adventurers through realms of imagination – this is for you!

Haven RPG is a programme designed to support individuals who are neurodiverse and/or have a disability or additional support needs. Using Dungeons and Dragons, GloomHaven and other card based tabletop role play games, we support participants to develop their social skills and build confidence in a group. Sessions take place at shmuHQ, Station Road, Woodside, Aberdeen AB24 2WB on a Monday and Wednesday evening.

We are looking for a volunteer DM with experience running Dungeons and Dragons sessions.

Our groups often have absolute beginners joining, so patience and understanding is very important.

All sessions will be fully supported by our experienced Employability Support Workers. Volunteers will receive a volunteer induction and will be able to access any support that shmu provides including Employability support and Adult Services support.

Through volunteering you will also:
• Make a meaningful impact on the lives of people in your community.
• Develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Gain recognition awards e.g.: Saltire Awards
• Fantastic experience for your CV

For more information please contact Michelle Trail, Employability Manager at email michelle.trail@shmu.org.uk or telephone: 01224515013
