About this event

SCI are looking for volunteers to help maintain the area. Volunteers can get involved in a mix of physical and gentler tasks, and something can be found to suit everyone.

Volunteering details

This is an opportunity to help create a more bio-diverse ecosystem for local wildlife. On the small site of 1.6 acres there is a burn, small woodland, grassy areas and a forest garden to nurture into providing more diversity for wildlife.

The site is adjacent to Pitmedden Forest, home of red squirrels, pine martens and so much more. It is a tranquil location with lots of possible learning – what does the land want to do, what do the non-human residents need, and how can human and wildlife co-exist here?

The site will provide a valuable wildlife corridor for native species and provide important data to conservation groups studying red squirrels and other species found here.
