District Chair (Board Trustee)

Want to help shape the future of Scouting in West Lothian?
West Lothian Scouts are looking for a volunteer District Chair to lead and support the District Trustee Board. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your leadership, communication, and organisational skills to help create positive experiences and opportunities for young people across the area.
The District Chair plays an important role in supporting the volunteer team, helping meetings run effectively, encouraging good governance, and working collaboratively to support the growth and development of Scouting locally.
As Chair, you’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team of volunteers who are passionate about helping young people gain skills for life through adventure, teamwork, and community involvement.
This role also offers valuable personal and career development opportunities. As leader of the District Trustee Board, you’ll gain experience in charity governance, leadership, strategic planning, and working with a wide range of people and organisations — experience that is highly transferable to many professional roles.
The role is flexible and can fit around existing work and family commitments, with a mixture of remote support and occasional evening meetings.
