Peer Supporter

Women’s Wellbeing Clubs are peer support groups run by volunteers. They offer safe, confidential, peer-led support spaces for Women to give and receive support, to be heard and listened to, and to share their experiences if they wish.

They are looking for women who can help support each other though lived experiences, to build networks and friendship and just lend an ear when someone needs to talk. As a Peer Supporter, you will encourage group members to get involved, ask questions to the group, and listen to group members who need to talk.

They have groups in St Andrews, Glenrothes and Dunfermline every Tuesday evening, and welcome anyone interested in volunteering to attend the groups to get an idea of how they run before you apply.

Experience required

They are looking for female volunteers with:

  • Life experience

  • Good listening skills

  • Understanding of mental health issues and local support arrangements
It would be ideal if volunteers had previous experience of peer support, presentation skills or social media, however this is not essential.
