Beauty & Relaxation Volunteer - Glasgow Hospice

We are looking for a qualified volunteer beauty and relaxation volunteer to pamper our patients by providing hand care, hand massage and facials, and giving them time and attention and making a difference to their lives.

At our hospices, we aim to provide the best possible service to those requiring end of life care. As part of this, we are looking for a qualified volunteer beauty and relaxation volunteer to pamper our patients by providing hand care, hand massage and facials, and giving them time and attention and making a difference to their lives.

Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
• Carry out facial, manicure or pedicure treatments
• Chat to patients
• Consult staff on patients likely to benefit from treatments
• Follow a set procedure for treatments as agreed with staff
• Keep the treatment area clean and tidy
• Help with other related tasks when necessary

Experience required

Complementary therapies offered in Marie Curie may include any/or all of the following:

• Acupuncture
• Aromatherapy
• Hypnotherapy
• Massage (Holistic/Indian Head /Remedial)
• Reflexology
• Reiki
• Yoga and Relaxation Techniques
• HEARTS Process

Travel expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. This includes travel by the use of your own vehicle, or public transport. Expenses are paid monthly directly to the volunteer.

Support
Training details

Excellent, ongoing support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers wishing to apply.
