Events Organiser - South Ayrshire

We are building a brand-new South Ayrshire team to bring the talking newspaper to blind, visually impaired and print-impaired people - and those with mobility issues - right across South Ayrshire. Each weekly edition must be recorded, edited and posted via freepost on the same day the local newspaper is released (e.g. every Wednesday), so our listeners get their news at the same time as everyone else.
Purpose of the role
Our first-ever Listeners Afternoon Tea in May 2026 was a resounding success — and as we expand, we want listeners in South Ayrshire to enjoy gatherings of their own. The Events Organiser plans and delivers listener events, fundraisers and volunteer socials in the area.
What you'll do
• Plan and coordinate listener events across South Ayrshire, from venue booking to accessible transport.
• Organise fundraising events and raffles, securing prizes from local businesses
• Coordinate event-day logistics, volunteers and entertainment.
• Work with the Marketing Coordinator on invitations and publicity.
What We Offer Our Volunteers
• A warm welcome and a full induction to the charity and your role.
• Training and ongoing support
How to Apply
Applying couldn't be simpler — there's no formal application form. Just get in touch and tell us a little about yourself, which area you're in (East, South or North Ayrshire), and which role (or roles) interest you. We'll invite you along for an informal chat, with no obligation on either side.
