Funding Secretary - South Ayrshire

We are building a brand-new South Ayrshire team to bring the talking newspaper to blind, visually impaired and print-impaired people - and those with mobility issues - right across South Ayrshire. Each weekly edition must be recorded, edited and posted via freepost on the same day the local newspaper is released (e.g. every Wednesday), so our listeners get their news at the same time as everyone else.
Purpose of the role
As a free service, ARSB depends on grants, donations and community fundraising. The Funding Secretary researches funding opportunities relevant to South Ayrshire, prepares applications, and helps build relationships with local funders, businesses and community funds.
What you'll do
• Research grant opportunities suited to our work in South Ayrshire.
• Draft and submit funding applications, working with the Treasurer on budgets.
• Track application deadlines, outcomes and reporting requirements.
• Develop relationships with local businesses, community funds and sponsors.
What We Offer Our Volunteers
• A warm welcome and a full induction to the charity and your role.
• Training and ongoing support
How to Apply
Applying couldn't be simpler — there's no formal application form. Just get in touch and tell us a little about yourself, which area you're in (East, South or North Ayrshire), and which role (or roles) interest you. We'll invite you along for an informal chat, with no obligation on either side.
