We are building a brand-new South Ayrshire team to bring the talking newspaper to blind, visually impaired and print-impaired people - and those with mobility issues - right across South Ayrshire. Each weekly edition must be recorded, edited and posted via freepost on the same day the local newspaper is released (e.g. every Wednesday), so our listeners get their news at the same time as everyone else.
Purpose of the role
Behind every weekly edition is a steady flow of listener records, correspondence and returns. The Administration Officer keeps the South Ayrshire records accurate and operations running smoothly, so the production team can focus on the recordings.
What you'll do
• Maintain the South Ayrshire listener records — new sign-ups, changes of address, wallet returns.
• Handle local correspondence and enquiries alongside the central studio team.
• Keep volunteer records and weekly rotas up to date.
• Assist with FREEPOST dispatch records and stock of USB sticks and wallets.

Experience required
What we're looking for
• Organised, methodical and comfortable with basic IT (email, Word, spreadsheets).
• Discretion — you'll handle listeners' personal details with care and confidentiality.
• A positive attitude and a cheerful, helpful manner.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
